New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his pitch for Khadi as the Centre amended the national flag code, removing the restriction on machine-made and polyester buntings. Alleging that PM Modi’s words and actions “never match”, Rahul in a tweet said” Khadi for Nation but Chinese Polyster for national flag ! As always, the words and actions of the PM never match”.

Addressing the ‘Khadi Utsav’ programme held on Sabarmati Riverfront on Saturday Modi urged the people to the people to embrace Khadi and gift the products of only Khadi village industries during the coming festive season.

He said once a symbol of self-respect, Khadi or the homespun was treated as an inferior product after Independence. Modi had said Khadi can become a source of inspiration for achieving the dream of a developed and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
