With the trash of recently declared selection list of constables of Border Battalion by Jammu and Kashmir Police, the desperation among unemployed youth has reached its zenith in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. This is not the lone selection list which has run into rough weather as couple of selection exercises also met the same fate for massive bunglings in conduct of examination by recruitment board through private agencies in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory in the recent past. This speaks volumes about the credibility component of recruitment boards and non serious approach of those who constituted the same.
This clumsy development does not auger well for the LG administration in J&K UT that has been parroting in full pitch that prior to abrogation of article 370 there had been rampant loot in almost all the departments of governance especially in recruitment exercise and the only saviour has been the present dispensation under the visionary leadership of PM Mr. Narendra Modi.
There is no denying the fact that corruption was the buzz word in recruitment of candidates to various posts in J&K government departments in the past. Worst was the free for all operation of backdoor appointments in local bodies, corporations, PSUs and notoriously in PHE and PDD. However, post abrogation of 370, the way, LG administration has cancelled one after another select list of candidates finalised by the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board has exposed the chinks in the armour of present day governance which brags of uncompromising transparency and zero tolerance against corruption.
Interestingly, there is stark similarity between the cancellation of selection list of Border Bns by JKP and already cancelled lists of various examinations conducted by JKSSRB -the villain are the private players who were entrusted with the sanctimonious job of conducting examinations but in between who played the role of dalals and brought bad name to the LG administration is a question to be answered.
Interestingly, the police authorities issued notification regarding cancellation of selection list of Border Bns nearly one month after declaration of result which raises serious question mark on functioning of police in J&K and the incumbent DGP Mr. Dilbagh Singh must clear the fog in the larger public interest.
There are rumors that a gang of outsiders are settling deals for ensuring selection of candidates at a premium and this is no more a secret. Many touts are cooling their heels in lockup for leakage of much talked recruitment of Sub Inspectors and FAA but who was the kingpin is shrouded in mystery to date. Amid repeated cancellation of selection lists, the tall claims of zero tolerance against corruption and transparency have fallen flat and the youth of UT have started losing faith in the present dispensation which if not addressed with utmost priority may lead to fizzling out of Modi mania among the residents of J&K UT irrespective of caste, color and creed.
