Nagrota citizens appreciated action of Police and Tehsildar and implore authorities that no leniency be shown towards such hotbed of immoral activities.

Acting on specific inputs, police on Thursday conducted a raid at a restaurant in Ban area of Nagrota in the presence of the Tehsildar, leading to the sealing of the premises allegedly for harboring immoral activities.

During the operation, police reportedly detained two young couples from a room being used as a “stay home” facility within the restaurant complex.

According to reliable police sources, the owner of the restaurant—who also runs a newspaper from the same premises—has been summoned for questioning. Notably, the restaurant had earlier too figured in a similar police raid, sources added.

Locals of Ban, while appreciating the police action, told JK Global News that villagers residing in the vicinity had long been uneasy over prohibited activities flourishing under the guise of an eatery.

“We had earlier also apprised the police through a written complaint about the restaurant, which is nothing short of a hub for immoral activities and a spot for boozers,” asserted a local resident of Ban.
