Meta has apologised to the Indian government after a video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefly removed from Facebook, describing the incident as an operational error. The controversy prompted strong criticism from a Parliamentary panel, which sought an unconditional apology from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and warned of possible action if similar lapses recur. The issue has intensified scrutiny of the social media giant’s content moderation practices in India.
