SRINAGAR: The J&K Anti-Corruption Bureau has trapped and arrested Gazala Akhter, Junior Building Inspector, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Ward No. 28, allegedly while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant in connection with construction of two structures.
Following a complaint and discreet verification, the ACB registered FIR No. 11/2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. A trap was subsequently laid, during which the accused was apprehended red-handed and the alleged bribe money recovered in the presence of independent witnesses. Further investigation is underway.
