NEW DELHI: India’s medal tally at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya has reached 37 medals, including four gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze, keeping the country 12th in the overall standings.
The Indian contingent added seven medals on September 27, with athletics and squash making significant contributions. Ancy Sojan and Sarvesh Kushare clinched silver medals in athletics, while Tejaswin Shankar, Parul Chaudhary and Harita Bhadra secured bronze.
Squash also delivered a strong showing, with Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh winning silver medals in the women’s and men’s singles events respectively.
India’s gold-medal haul includes titles in women’s cricket, mixed-team 10m air pistol shooting and both men’s and women’s kabaddi. The kabaddi teams successfully retained their Asian Games crowns.
With several events still remaining, including athletics, shooting and boxing, the Indian contingent will be looking to add more medals before the Games conclude on October 4.
