NEW DELHI: The 57th GST Council meeting is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on Thursday with several issues related to tax administration and compliance expected to come up for discussion.
The meeting, chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, comes at a time when businesses have been seeking measures to simplify GST-related procedures and speed up the resolution of disputes.
Among the areas under consideration are reforms aimed at improving the flow of input tax credit and reducing the time and cost involved in resolving tax-related issues.
The Council’s decisions could have a direct bearing on businesses and taxpayers, particularly in areas where procedural delays have remained a concern.
The meeting is being held at Bharat Mandapam and is among the key economic policy events being closely watched by industry and the business community.
