JAMMU : Jammu Police has recovered 804 grams of heroin and 1.114 kilograms of opium from the Talhar area of Sector Arnia under Operation Sanjeevani, exposing a suspected narco-terror smuggling module.
The case was registered on October 20 after police received information about 26-year-old Sunny Kumar, son of Tarsem Lal, of Kotli Mirdian, allegedly consuming narcotics near a ditch in his village. Police Station RS Pura registered FIR No. 186/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
During questioning, his alleged links with a narcotics network involved in a drone-dropping operation surfaced. Acting on the leads, a police team led by the SHO RS Pura recovered the consignment.
Preliminary investigation points to a cross-border drone-based smuggling nexus. Police are tracing the source, recipients and other links of the network.
