    Centre scraps mandatory baggage identification at J&K airport; Mehbooba welcomes

    Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s move of scrapping the mandatory baggage identification by the travelers at the airports in Jammu and Kashmir.

    Taking to social networking site Twitter, Mehbooba wrote:“Thankful to @sureshpprabhu ji. This decision will go a long way in lessening the inconvenience & enhancing the travel experience. Would also request him to look into airline ticket pricing to J&K to ease the burden for budget travelers”.

    Earlier the Union Civil Aviation ministry has scrapped the mandatory baggage identification by travellers in Jammu and Kashmir airports.

    Taking to social networking site twitter Prabhu wrote:”Furthering our mission of enhancing citizen convenience, we have done away with mandatory baggage identification by passengers at Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh airports. We remain committed to making your journey delightful and hassle-free.”
