Dialogue only way to end bloodshed in Kashmir valley: Vakil

Srinagar: “Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek” today paid glowing tributes to the 22 valiant martyrs of 13th July, 1931. On this occasion President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil said the highest tributes to the martyrs today would be a sustainable dialogue between India and Pakistan to resolve long pending Kashmir issue and bring peace to the trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the party workers in Srinagar today Vakil stressed on both India and Pakistan to carve out ways and hold a “serious dialogue” and put an end to the bloodshed in Kashmir which has mostly taken toll on the common people. “Enough of blood has flown in Jhelum. For God’s sake start the process of dialogue and stop killing innocent people we have seen enough of bloodshed. Enough is enough now. Show maturity and shun stubbornness,” Vakil said.

He said after violence and wars, it is the dialogue that helps to resolve all outstanding issues he said and asked New Delhi, Hurriyat leaders and Islamabad to engage in serious dialogue so that the prevailing bloodshed sees an end in Kashmir.

Vakil said all the parties across the board should shun their stubbornness and come on a talking table so that the common people are relieved from this bloodshed and mayhem. “The Hurriyat (separatists) should also walk a middle line for the larger benefit of the people,”.

He asked the Kashmiri mainstream parties to stop playing with the galleries and play their role and push New Delhi for talks with the hurriyat leaders. “What stops New Delhi to engage in a serious dialogue with separatists if every mainstream party has been appealing for it? For God’s sake stop playing with the galleries for the sake of power and help the state to come out of this mess. It is National Conference and PDP responsible for bloodshed in Kashmir. Had its leaders not betrayed people for the sake of power, today we would not have been in this crisis,” Vakil added.

He said that the time has come when leaders like Abdullahs and Muftis need to forget power politics for time being and show their seriousness and persuade the leadership across the board to restore peace in Kashmir. “The kiths and kins of politicians, bureaucrats, industrialists are studying in top colleges across the world, but it is the common and poor man’s son who is getting killed on the streets.  “We should all work so that the prevailing bloodshed in which our youth get consumes is put to an end. Our primary concern should be to stop this war like situation and take every possible step to restore peace,” Vakil added.
