Jammu: Grappling with countless deformities, the Jammu Municipal Corporation have gradually start moving in right direction under the able leadership of actionable Commissioner Avny Lavasa.
From daring to assinging active duties to several attached as well as suspended officers of enforcement wing to relieving the sanitation officers from burden of enforcement duties, JMC Commissioner Lavasa has finally broomed away the mess created since long in the crucial veterinary wing.
As a first step in this direction, Dr Zaffar Iqbal has been dethroned from his most favourite seat.
It would not be out of place to mentioned here that JKGN on Jan 19 has published a detailed story about the magnitude of corruption prevailing in the veterinary wing of JMC under MVO.
Reliable sources revealed that the JMC administration as well authority in Housing and Urban Development Department took serious note of the stinking affair prevailing in veterinary wing of JMC and consequent upon which the department of Animal Husbandry vide order number 38 of ASH 2020 dated 13-03-2020 order transfer of Dr Zafar from JMC to Arnia and depute Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma as MVO in JMC.
” This is another significant development and an outcome of change of dynamics in JMC working after the advent of visionary commissioner Avny Lavasa” asserts JMC insiders.
From sanitation to Enforcement and Transport wing every day the things are improving beyond expectation in JMC these days, said sources.
Surprisingly, even the Transport wing has reportedly shown a nose dive in fuel consumption with an unimaginable saving of Rs 25 lakhs petrol expenses as compared to previous month on month expenditure on fuel.
This will go a long way in face lifting of JMC which suffered immensly due to indulgence of middle and lower echelons officials in whole sale corrupt activities, added JMC sources.
Attributing these developments as outcome of visionary outlook of honest incumbent commissioner Lavasa, the sources however said” The real test of Avny’s iron fist lies in demolishing the den of corruption flourishing in Building Section of JMC and managed by BB Co (Bhushan & Braham Dutt Co).
