JAMMU: Enjoying inaptness of police, the auto drivers of illegal auto stand have converted the narrow entrance of road in Qasim Nagar JDA colony into unauthorised parking zone causing inconvenience and serious law and order problems for the inhabitants of colony.
The most amazing part of this encroachment is the inability of the police especially SHO Bagh e Bahu Police station, Kirti Sharma who are unwilling to act against these encroachers for the reasons best known to them.
The encroachment of passage road is a law and order problem and it’s the prime job of the concerned police officers to act against it without delay, avers Rajinder Khullar. Besides encroachment, these cab drivers have become sourse of nuisance for girls and women of the colony as they used filthy language while sitting inside their taxis parked upon encroached road inside the colony, he added.
The residents of the colony complained that the entrance of road leading to colony is located on sloppy side and this grave situation further compounded by the auto drivers by encroaching upon half of the road by parking their taxis.
The road is merely 10 feet in width and to utter dismay half of it has been occupied by these outsider taxi operators, complained Rajdeep Mehra.
The owners of these illegal taxi stand belongs to Sidhara, Sunjawan and Bhathindi who with impunity converted the Qasim Nagar chowk and Qasim Nagar road entrance into unauthorised taxi stand.
The road rest on a slope and these encroachers have parked their autos on safer side thereby leaving the most unsafe part of the road toward deep gorge for the residents of the colony, he added.
There is constant fear of skiding into deep gorge while moving with car on this encroached road, said another residents of colony namy Gautam Sharma.
“We have seen the “incapability” of law enforcement agencies especially DSP Bikaram Kumar in reining fearless operation of several social evils which includes prostitution, gambling and drugs in this colony but it’s surprising to see that the concerned police officers are unwilling to act against this encroachment which is visible to them with naked eyes” added Mr. Sharma.
Blaming the incompetent police officials, the agitated residents of the colony said “This encroachment of narrow road is an open invitation to a major tragedy in offing”
As usual there is indeed something goody goody between the concerned police officers and the owners of these illegal taxi stand which prompts the former to abdicate their assigned duty towards this law and and problem, alleged Tanvir.
To access the allegations of residents against police, the JK Global News contact the Bagh e Bahu Police station on landline number and apprised the Badah Munshi about this menace to which in heightened egos, he replied “Deikhtein Hein”.
When the JKGN further apprised SDPO East, DySP Bikram Kumar about this growing nuisance verbally as well by posting pictures on watsapp, the visible reaction of the young police officer was not in accordance with the rule of law.
JK Global News View Point: The police is entrusted with prime job of maintaining law and order by keeping check on unlawful activities for the betterment of society. However, encouraging the bad elements by remaining mute spectator to their illegal activities is a serious abberation which needs immediate attention of the DGP Dilbagh Singh so as to remove rot in the system.
