JAMMU: The protesting employees of Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department today called off their tool down strike which nearly prolonged for three days.
The decision was taken after the protesting employees reached an agreement late tonight with government in writing over putting on hold the proposed privatisation of electricity in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The three day strike has caused inconvenience to consumers especially those residing in downtrodden areas as the electricity remained snapped in only localities of city which are inhabited by haves not. Almost all the elite residential colonies and VIP areas were getting regular electricity supplies even during the ongoing strike.
