JAMMU : The district administration Jammu has booked one history sheeter woman namely Swarna under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The PSA order against Swarna was issued by the district magistrate, Jammu on the dossiers prepared by district police.
This action of district administration, Jammu has been widely appreciated by the residents of Bahu Fort and Qasim Nagar area.
Extending gratitude to Jammu police, they said” This is the finest example of ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ and indeed will act as a deterent for anti social elements in the area”.
Pertinent to mentioned here that Swarna is a notorious woman having network of brothels and drugs distribution in Bahu Fort area, Bathindi, Narwal and Greater Kailash area.
Already facing 6 FIRs, She was booked again on March 8, 2023 in FIR No 32/2023 u/s 366-A, 343/344/34 IPC , 4/6/16, POCSO Act and Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act and remained lodged in District Jail Amphalla for three and half month.
On June, 17, 2023, the Fast track court (POCSO) of Judge Som Lal granted bail to her and same day the house of accused Swarna was sealed by the district magistrate, Jammu for using it for immoral activities and human trafficking.
For the last one year, some well meaning residents of area were constantly raising their voice against Swarna and her gang for openly running business of immoral activities in residential area sans fear of enforcement agencies.
Claiming to be indomitable, Swarna den of shame was decimated by incumbent SHO Bagh e Bahu Police station Inspector Arti Thakur and her predecessor Inspector Surinder Raina who rescued a minor girl from clutches of Swarna and booked accused under stringent POCSO Act.
