SAMBA: Acting on the feedback and constant complaints about illegal mining in the area,  the Multi departmental team formed by Deputy Commissioner Samba on Monday conducted multiple inspections at mining blocks across the District samba.

The Joint task force Committee headed by District Mineral officer, Samba and comprising officers from Revenue Department, Police seized vehicles used to transport minor minerals and sealed the Illegal dumping sites.

Informing about the drive, the DMO said people involved in unauthorised activities or illegal activities shall not be spared and will be booked under relevant laws. “The stakeholders were also advised to carry out the activities strictly as per guidelines” added DMO.

However, the locals informed the JK Globals News that illegal mining is flourishing with impunity at large scale in the Samba district and this toke checking is just an eyewash.
