JAMMU: After two months of hectic investigation, the police reportedly have cracked sensational robbery of a Jeweler shop in Greater Kailash with the arrest of three accused including a lawyer, who masterminded the broad day light loot inside a shop in full view of the public.
Police sources said that one lawyer, a resident of Bishnah and member of a political party had planned the crime. The acquaintance of mastermind accused with owner of shop helped him gather crucial information about the shop’s layout and security. Under the supervision of SSP Jammu, the case was cracked by a special investigation team comprising SP South Ajay Sharma, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sunil Singh Jasrotia and then I/c PP Greater Kailash Wasim Bhatti .
It is worthwhile to mentioned here that on February 1, two bike-borne youth barged into M/s Anand Jeweler Shop and decamped with 2 Kg gold worth Rs 1.70 crore and Rs 35,000 cash by flaunting daggers. The CCTV footage shows the duo supporting helmets with tinted glasses step into the shop and then threatened the employee with dagger and sharp edged weapons before fleeing with gold items and cash. The incident has sparked massive resentment generally among citizens and especially the business community due to emboldened acts of criminals in the area.
