Doda: Bringing a shame to noble profession, a senior government teacher has been arrested for trying to rape a teenage girl student of the school where the accused has been posted
According to reports, 48-year-old teacher, Suresh Kumar Manhas, posted in Government Girls Middle School, Gouda located in Tehsil Bhalla in Bhaderwah was arrested by police after the 13 year old shocked girl student narrated the appalling misadventure of the teacher to her parents.
Confirming the incident, Muneer Khan, SHO Bhaderwah police station stated that the accused teacher has been arrested from his house at Khellani village on the complaint of the victim girl’s parents, alleging that the accused tried to rape their daughter in school on May 18.
The complaint alleged that the teacher called the girl to the classroom during the morning assembly on the pretext of searching her bag for lipstick. He then bolted the door and tried to rape her, Khan said. The accused fled the government middle school after the girl reported the incident to its management and her parents.
Interestingly, though the victim girl student immediately brought the matter into the notice of the government school authorities but they prefer to remain mum and later the police swung into action after the mother of the victim girl’s student raised voice against the accused.
There are nearly 25 girl students in the said school and as per sources earlier aslo the students as well as parents have brought into the notice of school authorities about the misbehaviour of school teachers with female students. This school is devoid of fremale staff, added sources.
Agitated over the condemnable behavior of a school teacher, the angry residents gathered outside the school and protested the incident, seeking strict punishment for the devil teacher.
Tehsil level officers from administration and school authorities visited the school and pacified the protesters, assuring strict action against the accused besides the posting of female teachers in the school where the unfortunate incident has occurred.
