JAMMU : The prime accomplice who was on run since the arrest of Swarna during bust of a sex-drug racket by police at Qasim Nagar finally has been apprehended by police team led by new SHO Bagh e Bahu police station Inspector Arti Thakur.
Sharing details, one ASI rank official on condition of anonymity said “Sanju who was on run and considered as right hand of kingpin Swarna was arrested from a hideout in Nowshera”.
In the much publicized sex-drug racket exposed at Qasim Nagar, the rescued victim girl in her statement has recorded that Sanju is the main pivot of Swarna’s brothel who managed clients, prostitutes, drugs besides dragging innocent girls into prostitution either by kidnapping or luring.
Though the police has arrested five persons in this case but so far failed to decode “unidentified” rapists from scrutiny of Call Detail Report (CDR) of 2 mobile numbers used by POCSO accused swarna for running flesh trade.
For kidnapping and coercing a minor girl into prostitution, so far the police has arrested five accused and booked them under POCSO Act besides other relevant sections of law. Those arrested includes history sheeter Swarna, Pooja, Shankar Singh, Kesav (Manager of MC Dollar Hotel) and Sanju. However, the police so far miserably failed to seal one hotel namely MC Dollar located at Gujjar Nagar as also the premises of Swarna where the rescued minor girl used to be raped by scores of sex predators.
The owner of hotel namely Noor Mohd who also once remained posted as SHO Bagh e Bahu Police station while maintaining innocence told JK Global News “Hotel affairs has been looked after by my employees and I should not be held responsible if anyone among them indulge in unlawful activities.” The police has already taken custody of CCTV footage and manager Kesav, a Nepali who was hand in glove with Swarna” he added.
Interestingly, Kesav was working in Hotel MC Dollar for the last 15 years and allegedly facilitated flesh trade of Swarna and its a matter of investigation as to how owner of a hotel in question remained unaware of going on in his hotel premises. It is worth to mentioned here that accused Swarna was openly running a prostitution-drug racket for more than a decade with impunity under the jurisdiction of Bagh e Bahu police station.
Though the SHO Bagh e Bahu Police station refused to share the details about ongoing investigation, yet insiders said “The arrest of Sanju is an important exercise in decoding the dirty network of notorious lady and soon everyone who was abetting accused or who raped rescued girls will be behind the bars and the police is working out to seal premises of Swarna used for prostitution by incorporating relevant sections of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) in FIR No 32/2023 besides concluding investigation in previous FIR No 88/2022 which is gathering dust for the last more than 6 months.
