JAMMU: The Model Police Station, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu has filed a Chargesheet/Challan u/s 420 IPC (Cheating) in the court of Sunil Kumar, Sub-Judge (JMIC), Jammu against a Woman Entrepreneur namely Richa Langer wife of Sanjay Langer resident of Gandhi Nagar.
The chargesheet was filed on the complainant of Harsh Gupta son of Late Banarsi Dass Gupta resident of Sanjay Nagar, Jammu who had lodged FIR No.0092 of 2024 dated May 2nd, 2024 u/s 420 IPC at Model Police Station, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu wherein it was alleged that the accused Richa Langer being a close kin of the complainant persuaded him in the year, 2018 to purchase the Silver Bonds launched by a leading jeweller of Jammu M/s Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers, Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Later, the accused lady cheated the victim by fraudulently redeem the bond and despite repeated request refused to return the amount of bonds.
The complainant after failing on all fronts, lodged a written complaint on March 19th, 2024 before the Special Director General of Police, Crime Branch, Jammu and the said complaint was transferred for disposal to the Model Police Station, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Since FIR was not registered, the complainant on April 25th, 2024 filed a complaint in terms of Section 156 (3) CrPC in the court of Learned CJM, Jammu seeking appropriate directions to the SHO, Police Station, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu to register an FIR against the accused Richa Langer and Rahul Suri (Jeweller) C/o Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers, Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and on April 29th, 2024, the 2nd Additional Munsiff (JMIC), Jammu then presided by Shama Sharma directed Incharge, Police Post, Digiana to lodge FIR in this matter against Richa Langer only.
After registration of FIR No.0092 of 2024 dated May 2nd, 2024 u/s 420 IPC, the police investigated the matter which led to the seizure of bonds and verification of signature specimen of accused. Upon completion of investigation, the Investigating Officer prima facie made out the offence of cheating against the accused Richa Langer and accordingly filed a challan in the court of Learned Sub-Judge (JMIC), Jammu and the said court transferred the challan to the court of Municipal Magistrate (JMIC), Jammu for disposal under law.
