Jammu: A music programme was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at K L Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy Complex today where Kabul Bukhari a young promising singer from Kashmir presented composite music programme of songs in Dogri, Gojri, Ghazal, Punjabi and Hindustani languages. The orogramme was attended by a number of intellectuals, musicians, writers and artists. Dr. Raj Kumar was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
In his address Dr. Raj Kumar appreciated the steps taken by the Academy to acknowledge the talent of the artists particularly the young artists. He added that he was impressed by the young singer Kabul Bukhari. He said that the presentations of the Sufi tint were presented in the programme which reflects the centuries old spirit of the mystics in this region of the country.
Earlier, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn welcomed the guests and said that Kabul Bukhari is a promising youth from Kashmir and have made a niche in the field of singing. He said that Academy is committed to project the talent of the promising artists. He said the talent needs to be promoted and recognized by one and all.
The programme had the attraction of the melodious voice of Kabul Bukhari born at Karnah in the border area of Kupwara in Kashmir. He had his earlier and secondary level education at Srinagar and pursued his Bachelor and Post Graduation degrees from Mumbai University. He now aspires for Doctrate’s degree from there. During his childhood he was inspired by the singing of his brother Tariq Pardesi, a well known singer of Pahari spoken in the state. That led him to opt for music as a career. During 2006 he qualified auditions from All India radio (RKJ), Jammu Station. During 2010 he participated in a Singing Reality Show- Miley Sur of 87 episodes at Doordarshan, Srinahr. He was the finalist with Runner Up ranking. His Hindi, Punjabi, Kashmmiri Singles are available on internet and such other media ad liked by a large number of his admirers. He got 1st rank in the Benadril’s Big Golden Choice programme. He has participated in Voice of India and annual Devotional Songs programme at Katra during 2017. He has performed for TV and Radio. He has performed in almost all the states of India and given programme in Pakistan.
The accompanists who played with Kabul Bukhari included Anil Raina (Flute), Chandan Kumar (Synth), Vijay Anand (Tabla), Shamsher (Octopad) and Mohd. Rafiq (Dholak).
