Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has declined to quash criminal proceedings against an Assistant Professor, Qulsum Akhtar accused in a case involving her selection in Biochemistry in 2019 allegedly on fake Reserved Backward Area (RBA) certificate.
The plea sought termination of the FIR and subsequent proceedings, but the court found no grounds to intervene at the present stage of the investigation. The allegations concern the purported use of an RBA certificate despite questions over the applicant’s eligibility and the manner in which the document was obtained.
The court observed that the allegations require proper investigation and that disputed facts cannot be conclusively determined while examining a petition for quashing an FIR.
With the plea dismissed, the investigation and consequential proceedings will continue in accordance with law.
