POONCH: Security agencies have stepped up vigilance along the Line of Control following a blast in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that killed four villagers near the Poonch sector.
The explosion occurred in the Satwal-Naki area of Hajira, opposite the Krishna Ghati belt. Local accounts reportedly said the victims were working on a water pipeline when the blast occurred, while Indian security assessments are examining a possible militant angle.
The incident has prompted increased surveillance along sensitive stretches of the LoC. In a separate development, the Army recovered and destroyed two old landmines near the border fence in the Mendhar sector.
Officials are maintaining heightened alert as security forces assess whether the incidents are connected to any infiltration or militant activity.
