JAMMU: Taking serious view of threat to lives of pedestrians and motorists due to nuisance unleashed on city roads by stunt bikers notoriously known as Chaprie heros, the traffic police department on the direction of SSP Traffic, City Jammu, Dr. Koshal has initiated special drive to end this menace on road.
On day one, the team of traffic cops on Monday intercepted three stunt bikers and challaned their motor cycles bearing No.JK06A-6314, JK06A-9278 and JK02CQ-4499 driven by violators namely Raees Malik , Shafqat and Nawab Tabish.
Employing rash driving, the trio while driving bikes used to make videography of their dangerous riding stunts and later upload on various social media apps for drawing viewership.
The police authority have analysed their videos wherein they clearly were seen indulge in stunts and driving dangerously posing threats to citizens besides peddling negative effect among youth in society. In this connection, all the 03 bikes were seized and challaned on spot under relevant section of MV Act.
The action was initiated following repeated feedbacks as well as complaints from citizens over alarming increase of rashly driving bikers in the nook and corner of the city which while pursuing dangerous stunts endanger the lives of motorists and pedestrians on roads.
The traffic police has warned of strict penal action against the stunt bikers and appealed the parents to sensitize their children to shun unlawful life threatening mis-adventure on roads and obey traffic rules.
