Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is all set to organise a two-day “Tawi Boat Festival” from January 28 to 29 at the left side of River Tawi Front, aiming to project the rejuvenated riverfront as a vibrant tourist destination.
The festival will offer free boat rides at the Tawi Barrage, giving visitors a unique experience of the scenic river stretch. To add cultural flavour, the event will feature traditional Dogra music and authentic Dogra cuisine, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.

The festival is being organised in collaboration with SDRF and Jammu Smart City Limited and will remain open to the public from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm, and no entry fee will be charged, making it accessible to all sections of society.
Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner, JMC in an interaction with media said that the initiative is part of JMC’s broader effort to promote the River Tawi Front as a tourism hub, while simultaneously boosting the local economy, employment opportunities, and livelihoods linked to tourism and cultural activities.
