KISHTWAR: The Crime Branch SIT has filed a chargesheet before Munsif Court against 15 accused in the Kishtwar minor sexual exploitation and death case within 60 days of taking over the investigation.
The case was initially registered as FIR No. 34/2026 at Chatroo Police Station after the minor died on August 20. It was later transferred to the Special Crime Wing, Jammu, and re-registered as FIR No. 27/2026. The SIT was headed SSP, Sanjay Kumar Parihar, Special Crime Wing, Jammu
The probe covered allegations of sexual exploitation, attempted termination of an advanced pregnancy at an unauthorised facility, medical-treatment lapses and efforts to prevent the matter from reaching law-enforcement agencies.
The over-1,000-page chargesheet cites 143 witnesses and invokes provisions of the BNS, POCSO Act and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
