Jammu: There seems to have abundant well wishers in state General Administration Department (GAD) to act as shield for KAS officer Sonu Pargal who recently booked by ACB in multi crore bribe acceptance case.
Considered as pivotal of state administration, the GAD efficiently update instantly its every orders/circular on its website on the same day without any hiccups.
Strangely, in case of Sonu Pargal who recently booked by Anti Corruption Bureua for his alleged accepatance of Rs 1 crore as brine from a bussinessma in land compensation case during his posting as ACR Samba, the GAD website is still looking in updation mode.
No doubt Hilal Ahmad Parray Commissioner / Secretary in a telephonic conversation with JKGN outrightly confirmed that Sonu Pargal was suspended in the wake of registration of FIR in 1 crore bribe case by ACB. However, he was short of words when asked about why the GAD website sans an order in this regard and why the alleged accused officer still acting as ACR Udhampur in its website.
On Feb 5, 2019 GAD vide it’s order number 178 had appointed Vikar Ahmad Giri as ACR Udhampur against a vacant post.
Surprisingly, since registration of case against Sonu Pargal by ACB on Dec 29, 2018, the GAD has uploaded 64 orders but none among it pertains to the suspension of accused officer and it’s attachment in the secretariat.
It’s a severe attempt to thwart transparency at the highest place of governance which is headed by none other than Chief Secretary and directs subordinate departments to remain transparent in their working, said a senior officer of GAD preferring anonymity.
Till the uploading of this story the officer in question stands at serial No 406 in KAS list was still shown as ACR Udhampur in GAD website thus contradicting the clarification of its own Commissioner–Secretary.
