AWANTIPORA: As part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse, Awantipora Police under the guidance of SSP Irshad Rather organised a debate competition under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Khrew, to sensitise students about the dangers of substance abuse.
Students actively participated in the competition, highlighting the harmful effects of drugs on physical and mental health, family life and society. They also stressed the importance of education, parental guidance and community participation in preventing drug abuse.
The first three position holders were awarded cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their performance. Refreshments were also distributed among participants.
Awantipora Police reiterated its commitment to continuing such awareness initiatives in educational institutions to engage young people in the collective fight against drug abuse.
