The well planned attack to foil the demolition drive of Jammu Municipal Corporation in wee hours of Friday morning against identified illegal under construction commercial structures in Sunjwan area of Bhathindi must be seen as an open defiance towards law of the land. Hurling bricks and stones on joint team of JMC, Revenue and Police officers with common intention is a criminal act which projects the inhabitants of the flourishing colony in a distorted shape.
No civilized society used religion and community as shield to protect wrongs and violation of laid down norms. Surely, no law abiding citizens aspire to see Jalalabad of Sunjawan in J&K transforming into Jalalabad of Afghanistan where radical illiterates rules the roost. Loaded with tons of ignorance the agitating poor fellow of Bhathindi and Sunjawan were tutored with fear by mighty so as to exploit them for protecting their illegal high rise structures in the vicinity. This is a dangerous trend having potential to tear apart the peaceful coexistence among different communities in the Jammu City.
Equally, there is no element of surprise when the demolition team greeted with stone and brick as plan was leaked prior to its execution. The black moles need to be identified in the system as they are more lethal than enemies sitting across the border and keep devising plans to destabilise our Nation heading fast towards much needed growth and development with stealth and vigour.
The LG Manoj Sinha should immediately pulled the heads of CID to unmasked the black moles in the system and rewarded them with compulsory retirement especially the corrupt Babus of Revenue Department who are responsible for the prevailing mess in the Sunjawan and Bhathindi and always keep confusing the JMC and JDA authorities with mysterious lathaas.
The JMC is mandated to check the illegal constructions in their wards besides ensuring that the same is in accordance with laid down norms of JMP 2032. This is being done to ensure holistic development of the area so that inhabitants may not face any difficulty in availing civic amenities for their healthy living. Several such drives were initiated in other parts of the Jammu where the structures raised without approved permission or in violation of approved plan were either demolished or sealed without any protests by the defaulters. Then, why Hoo hallah in Bhatindi and Sunjawan. Does, being muslims qualified them for resorting to construct high rise buildings in the area without following the due process of law ?
There can never be two set of laws –Treating Bhathindi with carrot and rest of the JMC wards with rod. The residents of the Sunjawan and Bhathindi need to learn from the Councillor Sobat Ali who atleast come out in open and enlightened the hypnotised crowds about the nicety of important things one needs to observe before starting any construction and standing tall against the unauthorised constructions in the area. The inhabitants of Sunjawan needs to accept the reality that the area lies in the Indian Union and they are bound to respect law of the land instead of resorting to violence and unlawful acts which are prominently even forbidden in the tenets of Islam.
Least but not last, the Bhathindi and Sunjawan deserves to be known as centre of civilization rather than a stinking hub of dingy lanes with unplanned structures alike scenario prevailing around Jama Masjid in Delhi.
