Rajouri: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a Treasury Office clerk in Kalakote, Rajouri, for allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹20,000 bribe from a retired Health Department employee.
The accused, identified as Khadam Hussain, allegedly sought ₹25,000 from the retired Class-IV employee for processing withdrawal of his ₹50,000 gratuity. The amount was later settled at ₹20,000.
Unwilling to pay, the complainant approached the ACB, which verified the allegations and registered a case. A trap team from ACB Police Station Rajouri subsequently caught Hussain allegedly accepting the bribe red-handed.
