JAMMU : Newly coined deputation culture in Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has taken preeminence over the interest of students for reasons which are crystal clear on a plain analysis of the ground realities.
As per the inputs available with JK Global News, the HED has deputed four teachers to various colleges on the pretext of some projects in city colleges.
Two teachers namely Rakesh Mohan Dutta and Meenu Bala have been deputed from their latest place of postings to Cluster University, Jammu on non teaching assignments from GDCs Ramnagar and Samba respectively. Both the teachers were recently transferred from CLUJ where they remained for prolong period on non teaching assignments but they again managed deputation in CLUJ after a brief spell of a few months at new place of postings in peripheral GDCs.
This is highly condemnable that the two teachers drawing hefty salaries from state exchequer are deputed for non teaching assignments (admission) which is not only below their dignity but also a catapult surrender of sorts. Highly depreciating that our students are badly suffering due to non availability of teachers while the HED has spared the two teachers for a job in CLUJ which can easily be managed by a clerk, asserted retired Principal Prof S.K.Bhalla.
Similarly, Preti Dubey of Computer Application and Ani Ambreen of History faculty have been picked up from GCW Udhampur and GDC (Boys), Kathua respectively and deputed to GCW, Parade with a direction that the duo will devote three days each both at their place postings as well as place of deputation.
Interestingly, Preti Dubey was deputed on the basis of her association with a project which as per Insiders is not laboratory based but a laptop exercise which can be conducted from any location on this earth whereas, Ani Ambreen was picked for Design your Degree project.
It is a matter of record that the above mentioned teachers constitute the same lot who were relieved from their previous place of posting after media hammering.
There is wide resentment prevailing among concerned college administrators, students as well as teachers. “The academics have taken a back seat due to partial availability of some teachers but we are caught in between devil and deep sea as the orders for this enigmatic arrangement have been issued by the higher ups in HED”, avers a Principal, who wished not to be named.
It is mind blowing to see that HED picked up a particular teacher of History from GDC, Kathua for DYD project in GCW, Parade College when as a matter of fact a large number senior faculty of concerned subject are available within the deputed college as well as in the vicinity colleges, said a senior Professor posted in GCW Parade.
How the said teacher shall justify her availability for 3 days each in two different colleges is a million dollar question, he further added.
Attempts to seek view of Principal Secretary HED, Alok Kumar didn’t materialize
