A day after concerns were raised by some organizers of Shri Amarnath Yatra langar seva in Jammu over uncertainty surrounding LPG cylinder supply, the district administration, Jammu swung into action and assured uninterrupted availability of cooking gas for langars during the pilgrimage.
It is learnt that acting on the directions of the District Administration, Jammu, Deputy Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Jammu, Sham Lal Abrol today convened a meeting with representatives of Bankey Bihari Temple, Railway Station and Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar.
During the meeting, the aggrieved langar organisers were assured that adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure hassle-free supply of LPG cylinders for smooth conduct of langar seva, said Sunil Magotra, Langar seva committee member.
Officials informed the committees that necessary directions have already been issued to the concerned gas agencies to maintain uninterrupted supply throughout the Yatra period, he added.
The assurance has brought relief to the langar organisers, who had earlier expressed apprehensions that any disruption in LPG availability could adversely affect services being provided to thousands of pilgrims visiting Jammu en route to the holy cave shrine.
