RAMBAN: With improvement in weather, the agencies involved in restoration of road for movement of traffic on Jammu-Srinagar national highway has geared its men and machinery for removing the debris and boulders which blocked road at different places in Udhampur and Ramban districts. Meanwhile the Srinagar-Jammu NHW remains closed for third consecutive day due to massive landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.
The Traffic authority supervising the NHW-44 says that due to relief in weather vagaries, the road clearance work is in full swing but still it require sometime to fully made the road safe for smooth flow of traffic.
Restoration work on NH44 is going on at Dewal Bridge, T2 tunnel, Maroge 1 (Sita Ram Passi) Maroge 2, Battery Chashma and if all goes well with fair weather these locations will be cleared by late evening, aver senior superintendent of police, traffic (NHW), Shabir Ahmad Malik.
