JAMMU: Land grabbers morals are flying high despite explicit direction from High Court to retrieve land from encroachers and initiate legal action against them.

In one such case, a retired Inspector General of Police hailing from Kashmir allegedly trying to grab a prime piece of JDA land measuring 5 Kanals adjacent to Police Post in Bhathindi area with whole heartedly support of concerned Khilafwarzi Officer namely Pankaj Singh Sambyal, reveals highly placed sources in JDA.

Located in Umar Colony and falls in Khasra No 260, the market value of this encroached land is worth 10 crores where the influential land grabber few days back  levelled its space with JCB escorted by nearly 10 cops.

Nexus is so deep that even the concerned Khilafwarzi Inspector of JDA instead of lodging FIR against this influential land grabber prefers to remain silent and even ignore the repeated directives of JDA authorities.

In contradiction to Khilafwarzi Officer in question, the Khilafwarzi Inspector posted in Bhathindi has apprised the JDA authorities about this broadday encroachment of government land.

However, sources in JDA said that KWO has approached the incharge PP Bhathindi for lodging FIR against the VIP land grabber but concerned police officer paid no intention to it.

“Taking cognisance of the matter, the officer in JDA now dashed a letter to senior officer in police department for action against VIP land grabber.

It’s mockery of Hight Court direction that on one side the state administration is initiating drive to retrieve state land whereas on other side the retired police officers are allowed to grab prime patch of land with impunity, said JDA sources.

There is no denying the fact that in majority of cases the land in Bhathindi was encroached upon by influential police officers, bureaucrats and politicians.

In some cases, the police officers also work as property dealers in sale and purchase of encroached land in Bhathindi, reveals one officer of JDA.
