KATHUA: BJP leader and DDC memer of Kathua Narayan Dutt Tripathi is allegedly accused of assaulting a local reporter and manhandling a woman journalist when the duo on Thursday were in interviewing former Minister and ex MLA from Bilawar, Manohar Lal Sharma in Ramkot area.

In a viral video, the accused BJP leader along with his accomplices can be seen arriving on the spot in a Scorpio and then snatched camera and manhandled reporter alongwith his female colleague when they were being briefed by Dr. Manohar Lal on Smart City project.

The reporter as well as female camera person are associated with Jammu based Daily Dainik Shiv Times and a formal complaint has been lodged against Tripathi in Billawar Police station for assaulting and threatening the team of Danik Shiv Times for performing their professional work. The police as per report instead of lodging FIR against the BJP leader has constituted a team to ascertain the contents of complaint.
