    Cops at Jhajjar Kotli rescue 25 bovine animals, arrested 5 smugglers

    JAMMU : Police party of Jhajjar Kotli police station today foiled bovine smuggling bid at village Chhurta tehsil Dansal and rescued 25 bovine with the arrest of two accused.

    As per available reports, the police party while patrolling stopped a group of persons who were carrying herds of 35 bovine animals by foot to Kashmir.

    During questioning, they failed to produce permission for taking such a huge number of milching animals from Dansal to Kashmir.

    Subsequently, all the five persons namely Mohd.Younis s/o Mohd Musa R/O Nandini Satwari, Kaku Khan S/O Chhatu R/O Mandal Satwari Jammu, Shabir Khan S/O Rashid Mohd R/O Urlani Badsoo Tehsil Dansal District Jammu, Mohd Ashiq Ali S/O Noorlai R/O Kuddal Badhota Udhampur, Mohd Mirza S/O Mohd Mussa R/O Phallain Mandal Satwari were arrested and case under FIR No 139/2022 U/S 188,295-A IPC,11 PCA Act,11/12/13 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were registered against them.

    One person who was  helping as guide managed to escape from spot taking advantage of dark leaving behind his motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2CJ/2831 which was seized by police.

    Under the supervision of SP Rural, the police team led by SHO PS Jhajjar Kotli, Inspector Vikram Sharma has intensified action against bovine smugglers with an aim to foil their any possible ways to smuggle cows from Jammu to Srinagar.
