Anantnag: Chief Secretary BB Vyas along with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad today took stock of various ongoing developmental projects in Anantnag and Pulwama districts.
At Anantnag, the Chief Secretary visited the construction site of recreational park being constructed by Department of Floriculture at Halmulla Sangam at an estimated cost of Rs 5.09 crore.
The park being developed along the Srinagar–Jammu national highway shall provide an opportunity to the tourists to take a view of the river Jhelum and also create employment opportunities for the locals.The Chief Secretary directed Floriculture for establishing a cricket bat willow unit in the park for the attraction of tourists.
He also visited trauma Hospital Bijbehara being constructed by JKPCC at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore. It was said that the hospital upon its completion shall have 15 beds each for male and female patients, besides having the facility of USG, ECG, diagnostic laboratory, x-ray, CT scan, operation theatres, pre-anaesthesia room and sterilization room.
Vyas also visited Padshah-i- Bagh, Bijbehara where 133-metre suspension footbridge will be constructed by R&B Department and shopping arc yard (Shah-i-Jahan Cafeteria) which is in its final stages of completion.
Further, he inspected work 62 KLD Sewerage Treatment Plant being constructed under AMRUT Scheme at Uranhall. The plant is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.3.30 crore and will be completed by July 2018.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned executing agencies to complete the construction work within the stipulated time.Later, Chief Secretary made an extensive tour to Awantipora where the prestigious AIIMS project is coming up on 1772 kanals of land.
On the occasion, he took extensive stock of the acquired land for AIIMS and the construction of approach road from main town Awantipora to Islamic university and AIIMS.
He also reviewed the status of handing over of land to the Central Public Works Department, provision of water supply, electricity supply, connecting roads and fencing.
He also held an interaction with the locals whose land and property has been acquired for construction of the prestigious AIIMS project. The landowners urged the CS that an adequate compensation should be paid to the persons whose land and property has been acquired for the project.They also demanded reservation in various jobs in the said institution.
Chief Secretary assured the deputations that all of their genuine demands will be looked into and directed the authorities to go for proper assessment of all the structures coming under the ambit of the project.
Earlier, Chief Secretary visited the semi-ring road Khadremoh which will connect Pulwama with Budgam via Khanda.
DDC Anantnag, DDC Pulwama, SSP Anantnag, ADDC Anantnag, Pulwama and senior officers from both the district administrations accompanied the Chief Secretary.
