JAMMU: The Janipur Police arrested a notorious drug peddler along with heroin when he tries to run away in Audi from checking point.
On lead from a source, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City Mohita Sharma laid a naka near Paloura Chowk and intercepted a Audi car, which was heading towards Bantalab.
On seeing the cops, the accused tries to run but the vigilant cops nabbed him. During checking, police team recovered 55 grams of heroin from possession of a person identified as Attar Hussain, son of Mohammad Sadiq of Ragoora Dawara District Jammu. He was a notorious drug peddler and history sheeter.
A case under FIR Number 99/2021 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Sources in police revealed that the arrested drug peddler has amassed huge money in crores through drug trade.
