JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted an alleged cross-border narco-terror network and arrested four suspects, including a Punjab resident, in connection with the recovery of arms and narcotics reportedly smuggled through drones.
The operation centred on the Arnia border area of Jammu district, where follow-up searches led to the seizure of an Italy-made Beretta pistol, two magazines, four rounds and more than one kilogram of narcotics, police said.
Police suspect the arrested persons were linked to a Pakistan-based network and had been involved in receiving consignments dropped by drones. The case has once again highlighted the growing security challenge posed by drone-assisted smuggling along the Jammu border.
