Jammu: The recent experimental change in enforcement wing by assigning role of Chief Enforcement Officer to two senior KAS officers have uplifted the dwindling image of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
But, keeping intact the showcasing of good job through selected anti encroachment drive seems an upheaval job for commissioner as the corruption is more rampant in other wings of JMC then the enforcement wing which is forced to crawl on its knee due to severe man power shortage.
Sources in Housing and Urban Development Department reveals that there is well knit corruption nexus worth crores prevailing in Revenue,Veterinary , Health, Transport secand Advertisement section of JMC.
Such is the sorry state of affairs prevailing in JMC that the union heads of safaikaramcharis used to run the affairs of some section in JMC by acts of coercion.
There is huge fraud worth crores is lying under JMC carpet on the name of engaging SKC’s with the alleged connivance of some blued eyed NGOs and few officers of JMC, said one officer who wished not to disclosed his identify.
Allegations also came flying thick and fast against some union leaders of SKCs for collecting Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh for assuring their selections.
Same is the sordid story regarding engagement of Nagrans in Health section of JMC.

Even, the officers who are engaged to look after the crucial transport section of JMC have tough time to weed out the mess owing to pulls and pressure from certain quarters who have vested interests in creating this chaos.
From misuse of vehicles to inflated fuel bills, stinking smell eminates from transport wing of JMC.
Pertaining to hoardings and issuing vendors licences, the concerned wing is deep neck involved in corruption, alleged sources.
Lots of manipulation and fiddling were made in the contract to grant undue favor to Shailendra Luthra owner of Brite Neon for displaying advertisements from ward 1 to 47.
Flamboyant by his cordial relations with concerned officers in JMC, Brite Neon owner namely Shailender Luthra acts like ‘super commissioner’ while displaying advertisements and hoardings in utter violation of agreement of contract, alleged JMC sources.
