Jammu: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DONER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy & Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, after releasing a booklet titled “Poverty to Prosperity” prepared by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation, containing details related to various welfare schemes for the weaker sections, said that this public enterprise has turned into a vibrant organization of the government doing good job in making people aware about enormous schemes of the Narendra Modi government aimed at socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections.
The booklet was released by Union MoS in presence of Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, Managing Director, Veerji Hangloo, Corporation FA/CAO, Mohammed Yaseen and General Manager, Gulam Qadir Khatana.
Singh said that there had been complaints in the past during the regime of previous government that the genuinely deserving people from among the weaker sections are not getting the benefit of the welfare schemes but today it is indeed a matter of satisfaction that J&K SC,ST,BC, Development Corporation has reached the remote and far flung areas of the state and like other states of the country, SCs, STs, BCs and other sections in Jammu and Kashmir too are getting maximum benefits of the welfare schemes of the Modi government. He said that this could happen only with the sincere efforts of the Vice chairperson and the officials of the Corporation, which indicates their concern for the betterment of the Target Groups.
He said that Narendra Modi government has undertaken series of programmes under Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan from April 14, Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti to May 05, with special focus on reaching the SC, ST, BC families, educate them about the welfare schemes, receive feedback from them about government initiatives aimed at their socio-economic upliftment, making them self reliant by helping them to set up own small units etc, which speaks of the real concern of the union government for the welfare of the people belonging to weaker sections.
Balbir Ram Rattan, on this occasion, said that “Poverty to Prosperity” is not merely a slogan or a phrase but it is a basic line on which corporation works to eliminate poverty and bring prosperity in the lives of the members of reserved categories.
