Jammu:Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today said that the Government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure to provide best amenities to the people of the state.
The Deputy CM was addressing people after listening to their issues during a public meeting here at Akhnoor.
A large number of people drawn from different sections of the society met the Dy CM and projected their problems and grievances.
Vice Chairman Kissan Advisory Board Daljit Singh, Legislators Ravinder Raina, Rajeev Sharma, Krishan Lal Bhagat, senior officers from concerned departments were also present.
Listing achievements of the Centre and state government, the Deputy Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown keen interest in the development of Jammu and Kashmir for which he is providing liberal funding.
He said that recently PM launched several development projects across the state including ring roads for twin capital cities, mega Hydro Power project at PakalDul, Zojila tunnel on Srinagar Ladakh road which shows his keenness to see state achieving new heights of development. He said with liberal funding promised by the centre all these development projects will be completed in a time bound manner. “The Prime Minister launched the development projects costing Rs. 25000 crore which will benefit the people of the state as well as country at large” he said.
He further said that inauguration of two important tourism development projects– the Tarakote Marg between Katra and Adhkuwari and Material Ropeway developed by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will greatly benefit the pilgrims coming to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and increase their footfall.
Responding to the local demands, Kavinder Gupta assured the people that the work on four lanning work of Jammu Akhnoor road would be started soon. He said the tender for the works have been floated and the project is likely to cost over Rs 800 crore.
Giving further details, he said that it is the endeavor of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people for which a well-conceived programme has been devised. He said that provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity have been flagged as the priority sectors by the Government. He sought people’s cooperation in effective implementation of all State and Centre government schemes so that benefit reaches to the needy. He added that an era of development and progress has started in the state adding that social and economic up-lift of the weaker sections, downtrodden, women, youth and farmer is on prime agenda of the government.
He also made people aware about the benefits of various Centrally sponsored schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, Make In India, Skill India, MUDRA Bank Yojana, DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, BetiBachaoBetiPadhao, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojana,Atal Pension Yojana, AMRUT Yojana, etc. Earlier, the people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redress of the same.
