SANAA : Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels attacked two airports in southern Saudi Arabia, damaging facilities at Jazan and Najran and injuring three people, Saudi authorities said. The attacks mark a fresh escalation in the rapidly widening Saudi-Houthi conflict. A separate Houthi attack also targeted Aden airport in Yemen, although no casualties were reported. The strikes come as Saudi-led forces intensify operations against Houthi positions along Yemen’s Red Sea coast.
The renewed fighting has raised concerns over security around the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a key route for global energy shipments. Financial markets are already watching the confrontation closely as any prolonged disruption could put further pressure on oil supplies and prices.
