JAMMU: Acting tough against flesh traders and their supporters, the district administration Jammu has initiated exercise under section 18 of Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act (PITA) 1956 for sealing Hotel MC Dollar located in Gujjar Nagar area allegedly for harboring prostitution activities of history sheeter Swarna. Owner of MC Dollar is a retired police officer.
On Friday, the police party led by SHO Bagh e Bahu, Inspector Arti Thakur along with Tehsildar Jammu pasted notice bearing number No 142/11/DMJ/2023 dated 09/06/2023 on the hotel premises where notorious history sheeter Swarna Devi conveniently used to serve a minor girl to several sex monsters in lieu of money after drugging the victim girl with heroine.

Notice under PITA Act for sealing Hotel MC Dollar
Pertinent to mentioned here that Bagh e Bahu Police on March 8, 2023 had busted a flesh trade racket and rescued a minor girl from a brothel of one Swarna Devi w/o Ashok Sharma. Consequently, police booked Swarna along with four accomplices in POCSO case vide FIR No 32 dated 08/03/2023 u/s 366 A, 344, POCSO Act. In addition, she was also declared as history sheeter.
Initially, the police was reluctant to add relevant sections of PITA against Swarna besides adamant to initiate action against Hotel MC Dollar where Swarna partially used to run her immoral trafficking business in hassle free manner. However, after media campaign and concern raised by well meaning residents of Qasim Nagar, the police incorporated PITA in FIR and consequently, the district administration initiated exercise for sealing brothel of Swarna as well Hotel MC Dollar for sheltering human trafficking operation of prime accused.

The Bagh e Bahu police station team led by the then SHO, Inspector Surinder Rains on March 8, 2023 raided the brothel of Swarna and recovered a minor girl who was kept as slave and subjected to coerced prostitution. During one month illegal confinement, the rescued minor girl after drugging with heroine used to produce before sex beasts at brothel as well as in hotel MC Dollar located in Gujjar Nagar locality.
Initially, the Bagh e Bahu police station in FIR No 32 dated 08/03/2023, booked accused Swarna alongwith four accomplice u/s 366 A, 344, POCSO Act. However, later during investigation by incumbent SHO Inspector Arti Thakur under the guidance of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafri, the police additionally incorporated section 3.4.5.7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act in the FIR.
Residents of Qasim Nagar have appreciated the initiative of police and civil administration to set in motion the process for sealing premises as well as hotel which was used for flesh trade by one Swarna.
