JAMMU: Burgeoning acts of shame which keep hitting news headlines for the last three months finally struck a speed breaker with the posting of efficient and skill savy Shiv Kumar Sharma as SSP Traffic Jammu city.

On the very first day to set the record straight, the new SSP Traffic besides preparing dossiers to pack off bulls in cop uniform to battalions have sensitized the entire cops to be more responsible in managing the affairs of traffic on roads.

Emphasis on exhibiting humanitarian traits on roads while performing their routine duties, Mr Sharma exhorts traffic cops to refrain from taking law into their own hands and shun such behaviour which is unbecoming of a men in uniform.

Pertinently, JKGN in it’s series of write-ups and editorial have highlighted the malafunctioning of the Traffic Department with special emphasis on several acts of indiscipline and violence which can’t be expected from any sane men in uniform.

Not only this, even practice of demanding ‘Entry Bribe’ at several nakas assumed alarming proportion in the absence of SSP traffic Jammu for the last three months..
