ISLAMABAD: The arrest of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf party, Imran Khan by para military police evokes a situation of chaos in financially trapped country.
Expressing solidarity with Khan, the civilians stage massive demonstration and stormed several buildings of Pakistan Army. Frenzy supporters of former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday barged into the Pakistan Armed force base camp in the garrison city of Rawalpindi and the Corps Commandant’s home in Lahore.
Khan, who had traveled from Lahore to the federal capital Islamabad, was undergoing a biometric process at the Islamabad High Court when the paramilitary Rangers broke open the glass window and arrested him.

In Rawalpindi, where troops were exercising restraint, Khan’s supporters smashed the main gate of the army’s sprawling headquarters for the first time. In Lahore, a large number of PTI workers broke into the residence of the Corps Commander Lahore and smashed the window and gate.
Several cities of Pakistan, witnessed massive protests following the arrest of Imran Khan by the Rangers. At a number of locations, protesters became violent, causing damage to public property and the burning of police vehicles. As per reports four individuals were killed and more than 50 harmed in various parts of the country in violent clashes between the security powers and the allies of Khan. Khan is the seventh former PM in Pakistan who was arrested.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court has upheld the arrest of Imran Khan as legal.
