JERUSALEM: Israeli strikes killed at least two Palestinians in Gaza on Tuesday, according to Palestinian health officials, as violence continued ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack. One of the latest strikes hit near Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
As per news agencies, Israel said the attacks targeted militants and accused Hamas of rebuilding its military capabilities despite the ceasefire. Hamas has denied the allegation and accused Israel of violating the Gaza peace arrangement.
The continuing strikes highlight the fragility of the ceasefire and the difficulty of implementing the wider agreement covering Hamas disarmament, Israeli troop withdrawal and reconstruction of the devastated territory.
