NEW DELHI : The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday successfully launched the GSLV-F17 carrying EOS-05, marking a significant milestone in India’s space programme. The 2,367-kg Earth-observation satellite was placed into its intended transfer orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. EOS-05 is India’s first dedicated imaging satellite designed for geosynchronous orbit, enabling continuous observation of a fixed region. The mission strengthens India’s capabilities in Earth monitoring, disaster management and strategic surveillance.
