JAMMU: The official website of the Jammu University was today hacked and the authorities in the campus seems unaware of this major breach in their network till the filling of this story.
While clicking url of JU www.jammuuniversity.ac.in, the pages reads ‘Your site is not private statingĀ that attackers might try to steal your information from www.jammuuniversity.ac.in(forexample passwords, messages and credit card).
In advanced option it opens with url mei.org.in which stands for Middle East Institute of New Delhi.
University sources, said that website was hacked down by 5 in the evening and it’s strange no effort was being made to restore it.
If this is the level of efficiency under the incumbent Director Centre for IT enabled Services and Management, then the situation will be more deplorable in the coming days, said an official of Registrar office.
The JU have dedicated Director for internet and related matters in the campus which looked after the maintainence of IT services in the campus.
But, the way JU website was hacked by almost in the evening and the concerned are unaware of it shows the things are not up to the mark in the office of Director CITSM.
The website was hacked and the hackers added links of some private institution known by the name of MEI, sources added.
