The initiative is part of JMC’s broader vision to transform the Tawi into a lively public space-Dr. Devansh Yadav

In a vibrant celebration of culture, ecology, and community spirit, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in collaboration with Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) is all set to host the three-day Swachh Tawi Mahotsav from April 14 to April 16, 2026, coinciding with the festive occasion of Baisakhi. The event will unfold along the scenic left bank of the Tawi riverfront near the 4th Tawi Bridge.

Interacting with media persons, Dr. Devansh, CEO JSCL and Commisioner, JMC said that aimed at showcasing rich Dogra heritage while reinforcing environmental responsibility under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0, the festival promises a dynamic blend of tradition and modern attractions.

The key attractions of the festival include laser shows, celebrity performances and a vibrant traditional mela atmosphere besides boating. The festival will also feature authentic Dogri cuisine, handloom displays, and the much-loved traditional Dangal.

Adding a spiritual touch, the daily Tawi Aarti dedicated to “Surya Putri Tawi” will be performed each evening. Over 50 Swachhta Ambassadors will actively engage visitors in awareness drives against polluting the river.

Notably, under the dynamic leadership of Dr Devansh Yadav, JMC has already taken significant strides in promoting river-based tourism. The successful two-day Tawi Boating Festival held in January this year marked a turning point, drawing enthusiastic participation and laying the groundwork for future events.
