JAMMU: There are enough evidences available to invoke stringent provisions of SC/ST atrocities Act against those coerced Prof. Chandra Shekhar to end his life by hanging inside Post Graduate department of Psychology in Jammu University on ill fated Wednesday. The dying statement Shekhar wrote on board, “Sab sach hai kyunki kahani hi jhoothi hai” itself speaks volume about devilish web created to entrapped him with a design to debar him from occupying top slot of HoD.
Expressing their deep anguish over discreet silence observed by the university administration over tragic end of their colleague life journey, teachers close to Prof. Shekhar has alleged that it is an “institutional murder” and urged Vice-Chancellor to come out of self hibernation and do what is necessary required at the moment to end the deep mess prevailing on the campus.
The name of HoD Psychology Dr. Arti Bakshi is repeatedly also doing the rounds in mystery surrounding the death of Shekhar over her suspected oppressive behavior against the later. These allegations were further corroborated by wife of deceased teacher who has leveled serious allegations that her husband was purportedly subjected to humiliation in his own department since he belongs to Scheduled Caste.
“Role of HoD Psychology, complaints by students in enemas, haste of CASH committee headed by Prof.Alka Sharma in pronouncing verdict against the deceased in flagrant violation of principal of natural justice and finally formation of eyewash SIT only indicates that everything is happening with a preset mind”, alleged teachers.
“The SIT is nothing but an insult to our deceased fellow teacher as well as slap on the face of Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA) who is demanding CBI inquiry” pointed a teacher of Jammu University.
There is also simmering discontent prevailing among a section JU faculty members against the half hearted approach of JUTA in setting the agenda straight for removal of everyone accused of Shekhar death and CBI probe.
Pointing lack of will to wake up the authorities sleeping in deep slumber, a group of senior professor told JK Global News “Marathon round of JUTA general body and executive council round was held on last Wednesday and again a meet slated for Tuesday. The pen down strike has been further extended for more two days in support of their demands. However, the situation warrants indefinite strike till their demands are met” Everything else shows something fishy too cooking in JUTA under the influence of top brass of JU, they added.
